I am in the process of a total rebuild from the ground up of a 1969 MGB roadster.
It looked in very condition, it drove well and the drive from Adelaide to my home in Macedon, Vic. was fantastic. Since then it has been a very long and frustrating journey but we have recently moved the car from the body rebuild to the mechanical refurbishment. The engine has been a total rebuild, the gear box and dif are next along with stripping the suspension and refurbing. The underside is being sand blasted and a rust preventive and sound damping coat applied, followed by a total respray.
Then the rebuild will be completed. I have spent at this stage in excess of $45,000-00 BUT it will be almost concourse.
I don't want to sell it to realize a profit as MG's don't demand that return.
I will drive her for the next 10 years and enjoy virtually a new MGB as original as possible but with the latest electronic accessories.
