These are a pair of genuine Lucas 8” headlights from a prewar mg special,
Joseph Lucas - Made in England - MB148 - owls eye lens,
early Lucas lens chrome logo,
With the headlamp ring, pull clip retainers,(a bit pitted) and the chrome mounting hardware, with brass nuts.
They were removed in the sixties,- and were on an unusual (ugly!) boat tailed early Mg special,
and were mounted on the front cycle guard steady brackets,
beside the chrome radiator,- so there is a left and right side fitting on them.?
The other was on a front badge bar!!
The domed fitted glass is orig Lucas - but are 2 different moulding styles.,
Good looking pair in as used condition, no dents, ,etc.
Not original for mg t-type, - but would suit a period MG race or competition special?
(Or other sportscar?)
There is also a third Lucas chrome h/light unit included, with broken glass lens,
And a different mount,- see pics,
I was told these 3 may be from a Riley, or Rover 75 P3?
The front rims look the same as MG TA/TB/TC?- holding the dome lens
Could be converted and re-plated for these cars
But shape is slightly diferent? - more pointed?
(Original MG TC (1945–1949) headlights were 8-inch Lucas (or 8.25-inch) MB 140)
